John Buser, COO

John Buser is the Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the product development, manufacturing and day-to-day operations of the company. He is also the inventor of the company's first product, the Laprostop®. John has had an extensive background in product development, distribution and management for medical device companies. He is the patent holder for four medical devices, and has also invented several other industrial products. John has also founded several companies, including Bluewater Trading Company (chemical recycling); OrthoRx (medical manufacturing); and Shave Away Europe (industrial dust collection). He was also the Vice-president of UGG International and introduced UGG boots to the American market. John holds a Bachelor's degree from Cal State Los Angeles, with additional coursework in the sciences at UC San Diego.


Board of Scientific Advisors

Mark Surrey, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Mark Surrey is a co-founder of Innovamed and the head of the Scientific Advisory Board. Mark is also the co-founder of the Southern California Reproductive Center, which is the most acclaimed and largest facility of its type in the region. Mark completed his residency at UCLA with special fellowship training in Reproductive Surgery and in vitro fertilization at the Hammersmith Hospital in London and the Royal Victoria Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. After that, he opened the first private center for assisted reproductive technologies in Southern California. His training in reproductive medicine and surgery enabled him to open other centers in operative laparoscopy, and he became a leader in the field, publishing numerous peer review articles. He has also lectured extensively and taught numerous courses on aspects of operative laparoscopy. Dr. Surrey was elected president of both the American Association for Gynecologic Laparoscopy as well as the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society.


Patrick Diesfeld, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

Dr. Diesfeld is a co-founder of Innovamed and a member the Scientific Advisory Board for Innovamed. He developed the original idea for the Laprostop and worked with John Buser, who then developed the product. Patrick completed his residency at L.A. County USC Medical Center and is a Board Certified OB-GYN surgeon in Ventura, California. He is a member of the Urogynecology Society, and also has an active interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. He is the Director of the Ventura campus of Residency Education and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Los Angeles, California. He has received numerous awards and certifications and has been published in professional journals in his field of specialization.
